Keosha’s Story

Instead of blocking myself from the world, I learned to speak about what I was going through.

I have had seizures for 6 years now & it can definitely be depressing at times. Going through life not knowing if & when it will happen made me retreat into the four walls of my home, not wanting to leave because of fear & made me become suicidal & turn to drinking on a regular basis in order to block out my feelings. I had to learn how to transform the pain I was feeling into something positive & use it to my advantage. Instead of blocking myself from the world, I learned to speak about what I was going through & it has helped me in so many ways. I now work with people who have mental disabilities & encourage them in the process which brings encouragement to myself as well.

We all have different walks of life & different journeys, nothing is meant to be perfect & during those moments where we are struggling through the storms is when we are being molded & made into who are meant to be if we can learn something from it. Things happen but it is not meant to break us, but to shape us. No, it is NOT easy at all, if I said that then I’d be lying but we have to keep pushing forward no matter what & realize how strong we truly are. There are so many people who couldn’t walk a day in our shoes because of what we have to deal with yet we do it everyday. Keep your heads up, keep pushing & understand your worth no matter what comes your way, you were brought here for a reason or you wouldn’t be here. We all have a purpose in this world. Praying for you all.
