I was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 1. Then, on my first birthday, February 18, I had both a short and long seizure. My mom told me this story: I had a seizure due to a fever, and I was only 1 at the time. We then got an MRI and an EEG. I had great doctors, one of whom was a neurologist who said I had a unique form of epilepsy. He referred me to another neurologist, Dr. Alexander Rottenberg, and I’ve been seeing him ever since. Someone from the Jimmy Fund also referred us to Dr. Chi in Boston when I was 2. My mom shared this story with me because I was very young at the time.
