World Autism Awareness Day

Tuesday, April 2, 2024

World Autism Awareness Day is recognized internationally on April 2 every year, encouraging awareness and support for people with autistic spectrum disorders throughout the world.

Autism and epilepsy are often interconnected: it is estimated that over 30% of people with epilepsy also meet the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder,1 a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects social communication and restrictive and repetitive interests. Learn more about the connection between autism and epilepsy in our webinar The Epilepsy-Autism Connection: Research, Diagnosis, and Treatment.

The United Nations is hosting a virtual event, Transformation: Toward a Neuro-Inclusive World for All in support of Autism Awareness Day. Click here to learn more or register.
